telus and HTC have publish a new firmware (version 3.00.661.11) for the old HTC S640, laready sale by telus. This update make the HTC S640 add EVDO Rev. A, improve overall device functionality and stability. We have tested this firmware on a HTC S640 and this make a very good difference. You can download the firmware on the HTC website.
