telus has surprisingly kept its Mike network active, and have actually launched another device for users of the push-to-talk service. The Motorola i420 is now available for $249.99 contract-free, and offers the Direct Connect feature that made the network, and compatible devices popular years ago. It features a 1.79" (128x160) display, flip form factor, and a number of basic features including bluetooth, GPS, and a VGA camera. While this may not serve as much news for regular consumers, the fact that telus isn't letting up on this network should be a good indication for business owners and managers that they can continue to rely on it for direct (and instant) communication between its members.
