We recently let you know that telus, Rogers, Bell, Mobilicity, and Videotron had all confirmed that they would be carrying the Samsung Nexus S, and have even more information regarding the launch to share. The Nexus S is expected to launch in the first week of April, though confirmation of this release time-frame hasn't been received as of yet.
WIND Mobile also stepped forward, stating that they would likely be offering up the Nexus S to their customers as well. We also found information via a FutureShop press release that points to availability from KOODO Mobile and Fido as well, so it looks like the Nexus S will be available from nearly every carrier.
To recap on the Nexus S', it features a 4" (480x800) touchscreen display, a 5MP camera with LED flash, and will run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread at launch. This new Samsung handset carriers with it 16GB of internal memory, and features bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS connectivity. The other major feature found in the Nexus S is NFC (near field communications), a close-range data transfer technology that we should see implemented by som retail vendors within the next year or so. Lastly, the main advantage to owning a Nexus S over other high-powered Android handsets, is the pace at which OS updates are pushed out. The Nexus series handsets receive new OS versions before any other device, and so they are perfect for those who like to constantly have the latest and greatest.
